The Ministry of Health (Minsal) and the isapres held a meeting on Tuesday regarding the situation of the latter after the ruling of the Supreme Court. After the meeting, the president of the Association of Isapres, Gonzalo Simón, said that “we saw a willingness to look for a way out.”
Recall that the ruling of the highest court established that all health and complementary plans must apply the table of factors of the Superintendence of Health, which came into force in 2020.

“We saw from the Ministry and the minister a willingness to seek a way out, so that there is no collapse and an abrupt exit from the isapres because of the damage it can cause to health systems in Chile,” Simon said.
In turn, he said “we understand that the way the failure is implemented puts the operation of the system at risk. We believe that the ruling can indeed be implemented in a way that allows it to be fully complied with.”
The president of the Association of Isapres said that next week there will be a new meeting to “continue delving into solutions. Speed is very important to eliminate uncertainty.”
Subsequently, the Minister of Health, Ximena Aguilera, explained that “we are analyzing what the proposals are and we are also waiting for the Superintendence of signals of what will be the mechanism that will define, to account for the ruling.”
“We are starting the work, they are telling us what their points of view and their proposals are. We have to see what the Superintendence is going to propose and we are going to continue with this work plan during the remainder of the summer, as to have a response that gives stability to the system, “he added.
