Political table of the FdT: the party meeting will be held on February 16 without the presence of Cristina and Máximo Kirchner

President Alberto Fernández in his capacity as head of the National Justicialist Party (PJ) called to meet at the political table of the Frente de Todos (FdT), to which he agreed to outline the candidacies, on Thursday, February 16 at 7 pm at the headquarters of the historic political party located at Matheu 130. Kirchnerism will be present but Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and La Cámpora leader Máximo Kirchner will be absent. Representatives of different political spaces that make up the government coalition were invited to the political table with the intention of beginning to discuss “the strategy to follow with a view to the different elections this year,” as the President had announced last Sunday. Within the agenda of the conclave, despite the fact that Alberto Fernández confirmed that the intention of only discussing the strategy for the elections, from Kirchnerism insist that the agenda be expanded and at the table also deal with management and candidacies. The dispute over the agenda began immediately after the President clarified what the objective of the table was since Kirchnerism has long asked Alberto Fernández for an area in which the direction of his administration can be discussed. However, the president has so far not acceded to those requests. Most of the spaces that make up the Frente de Todos confirmed their attendance at the national table, including social movements, the CGT, the Peronist governors and mayors of the suburbs and even Sergio Massa himself with his Frente Renovador. There will also be representatives of Kirchnerism in the conclave, but the vice president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, nor the leader of La Cámpora, Máximo Kirchner, will not attend. “In the coming days we will resolve who is going to go,” they said from Kirchnerism. Fernández will be the coordinator of the meeting, in which he hopes to open a discussion to determine the strategies that Peronism will have in the different regions in the face of the elections for the renewal of authorities and legislators in 22 of the 24 jurisdictions, and at the national level President and Vice President and 24 senators and 130 national deputies. This Sunday opens the electoral calendar that will be extensive given that there are 16 provinces that unfolded the elections. The electoral race begins in La Pampa, where Peronism has only one list, which carries in its head the current governor Sergio Ziliotto.
