World champion: Real Madrid beat Al Hilal

After giving the blow and eliminating Flamengo -current champion of Copa Libertadores-, Al Hilal could not against Real Madrid, which was consecrated as world champion with a double from Vinícius Júnior, another from Federico Valverde and a goal from Karim Benzema. On the side of the Arab team, the Argentine Luciano Vietto scored two goals and Moussa Marega converted the rest. The final played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco began with great expectations for the team led by Ramón Díaz, who arrived after eliminating Flamengo. But the illusions began to fade in the 12th minute of the first half when Vinícius, with a speed superior to the rest, received a clearance from Benzema and defined from below, putting the first. On the next play, Vietto warned of what was to come with a violent shot that went near the goal. With a greater dominance of Real Madrid, Valverde hooked the volley ball inside the area and an imperceptible deflection in the defender left the goalkeeper unanswered. Drawn 2-0 on the scoreboard, Marega received a pass near the center circle and, with no rivals in front of him, began to run, reached the area and shot scoring the discount. The first half ended 2-1, but quickly in the complement Benzema appeared in the small area after a footer of Vinícius and put the third. After a phenomenal play on the right side of the court between Valverde and Carvajal, the Uruguayan stung it to score the 4-1, in what seemed like a game ended at 58′. However, five minutes later, Vietto imitated the definition and reduced the advantage of the “Merengue”. The hope was short lived this time too, as in the 68th minute, Vinicius finished and the ball slipped through the goalkeeper’s left post. With a partial result of 5-2 against, Vietto took advantage of a mistake by the defense and scored the third goal of the Arab team. Thus, after this outcome, Real Madrid won its fifth trophy in the Club World Cup in Morocco, as it won in the 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 editions. In addition, the Spanish club has three Intercontinental Cups, won in 1960, 1998 and 2002.For its part, Flamengo beat Al-Ahly by 4 to 2 and climbed the podium with third place.
