“What is requested is to comply with the principles that regulate the sector”: the response of the isapres to the statements of Minister Aguilera

The president of the Association of isapres, Gonzalo Simón, came out in response to the statements of the Minister of Health, Ximena Aguilera, about the crisis of the insurers. The health authority ruled out the transfer of resources from the State to these.
Given this, Simon indicated that they have not asked for any kind of rescue or economic support to the State, nor a pardon, which has been pointed out by Aguilera.

The executive said on Radio Bio Bío that what they expect to overcome this crisis is that the principles that regulate the sector are met, pointing out that health benefits and benefits will be financed with contributions.
Likewise, Simón, in defense of the isapres model, said that the measures have to ensure the balance between income and expenses, to allow all coverage, already agreed, to continue operating.
The criticism of the president of the Association of isapres to the Minsal is that there is no concrete progress on the future of insurers in the health reform promoted by the Government. In that the minister herself assured that the isapres system must be maintained to give continuity to the coverages; and that reform is not abrupt in this crisis.
“Consequently, we reiterate our call to the authority to put a sense of urgency and work decisively to prevent the consequences of this crisis from affecting people’s health needs,” he said on Radio Bio Bío.
