False account of the new Minister of Cultures gave for dead to writer Antonio Skármeta: family denied it

From a false account of the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, Jaime de Aguirre, information emerged that gave for dead the prominent Chilean writer Antonio Skármeta. As the minutes passed, the family denied the situation.
Fabián Skármeta, son of the writer Antonio Skármeta, confirmed through social networks that his father has not died, as erroneously reported by different national media.
“I just spoke to my father and he has confirmed that he is still very much alive and kicking. Could you rectify the information you have disseminated? I don’t want my friends and family to suffer an unnecessary scare. Thank you,” the writer’s son told one of the media outlets that shared the news.

As a result of the situation, the Ministry of Cultures issued a statement clarifying that “the Twitter account of Minister Jaime de Aguirre that has circulated in the media in false, so any information emanating from there, is not true.”
“From the Ministry, we contacted the family and the writer, who are in good health. We regret any misunderstanding and inconvenience that has been caused by this situation, “they concluded from the portfolio.
