Lucas González case: trial begins of 14 police officers for the crime of the minor and for concealment

The fourteen police officers of the city will begin to be tried this Thursday for the murder of Lucas González, which occurred in November 2021 when he left training at the Barracas Central club with three friends and ran into a civilian vehicle where there were three people on board, who were policemen, who got off with weapons in hand and began shooting. Three of the troops will be tried for the homicide, while the other 11 for concealment by “planting” a firearm and wanting to pretend that it was an armed confrontation. After the impacts of the bullets, Lucas who was in the passenger seat, received some impacts, of which one was in his head and caused serious injuries for which the next day he lost his life. The boys, then 17 years old, believed they were thieves and so they made it known first to their families to whom they called from the place and then to the Justice.However, those who traveled in the vehicle that intercepted them were the policemen Gabriel Isasi, Fabián Andrés López and Juan José Nieva. The three were in a civilian vehicle doing intelligence work on Luna Street for alleged activities linked to drug trafficking. According to the version they gave, when they saw four young men in a vehicle, they believed it was linked to the drug trade and assumed that they were also armed. Therefore, after chasing them incognito for about 200 meters, they crossed the car. The troops assured, as they declared before the Justice, that they identified themselves as policemen, that they shouted giving the voice of stop and that the vehicle in which the four boys were stopped its march even that it threw the car on them, so they shot. When testifying in the case, the young people who were traveling with Lucas assured that they never heard a siren, that they did not stop them and that the three policemen never identified themselves as such. After the shooting, Lucas was left inside the vehicle vanished while two of his friends were arrested, and a third managed to escape. The area was filled with police and the replica of a gun appeared inside the vehicle in which the boys were traveling. The investigation assumed that this replica was “planted” by the police to simulate that the police fired in a dangerous situation they faced, and before a possible armed confrontation. The accused will be tried by the Oral Criminal Court 25, composed of Judge Ana Dieta de Herrrero, and magistrates Marcelo Bartumeu Romero and Hugo Navarro. Police officers Isasi, Nievas and López arrive at the oral debate accused of the crime of aggravated homicide by treachery, by premeditation of two or more people and by their condition as policemen. Meanwhile, the inspector commissioner Daniel Alberto Santana; the curators Rodolfo Alejandro Ozán, Fabián Alberto Du Santos and Ramón Jesús Chocobar; the main Héctor Claudio Cuevas; officers Sebastián Jorge Baidón, Jonathan Alexis Martínez, Ángel Darío Arévalos and Daniel Rubén Espinosa; The commissioner of the Summary and Brigades Division Juan Horacio Romero and the deputy commissioner Roberto Orlando Inca will be tried for ideological falsehood, illegitimate deprivation of liberty and concealment. The trial will take place during eleven hearings in the courts of Comodoro Py and the accusation will be in charge of the prosecutor Guillermo Pérez de la Fuente and the complaint represented by the lawyer Gregorio Dalbón.
