With the participation of Camila Moreno and Flor de Rap: they will hold a free festival starring exclusively women and diversities

With a musical billboard led by different national artists and composed entirely of women and sexual diversities, this March 25 the Festival Juntas will be held: with equality and without violence.

The day will have a varied musical show, in which Las Lulú by Pancho Gancho stands out, with the representative of the Buenos Aires bohemian, Lucy Briceño, the comedian Pamela Leiva, the feminist singer-songwriter Camila Moreno and the urban artists, Zencilla and Flor de Rap.
The festival takes place within the framework of Women’s Month and is organized by the new Gender Directorate of the Municipality of Valparaíso. In addition, the event seeks to publicize the digital platform of the department, where gender and women, diversity and dissidence, participation and innovation programs will be made available for women and the LGBTQ+ population of the commune.
“We want them to know that we will be attentive and for you, for that elderly resident who does care work and also produces popular economy, for mothers who raise, work and often must get ahead alone with their sons and daughters, and also for sexual diversities who want to live freely without fear in the public and work space,” said the head of the Gender Directorate, Tania Madriaga.
Along the same lines, the development of various projects and initiatives was also announced, for example, the Integral Center for Women’s Support (CIAM) that will aim to accompany and legally advise women, also providing support with individual and group psychological therapies.
Another initiative is the Economic Autonomy section, which seeks to formalize the work of women and diversities by creating, networking and providing tools such as socioeconomic support, training in heritage and non-traditional arts and crafts, leveling of studies, among others.
“The women of Valparaíso have been key to sustaining a permanent organization in the territories, therefore, our city needs women and diversities to develop. They are the true jewel of our city and we must have mechanisms that meet their needs and welcome their proposals, only then will we advance towards a new Valparaíso, more egalitarian, diverse, inclusive and participatory, “said the mayor, Jorge Sharp.
The activity will be held this Saturday, March 25, in the Plaza Sotomayor, starting at 11:00 in the morning with a fair of Women and Diversities in Cochrane Street, whose purpose is to promote spaces of economic autonomy.
