Deputies approved the project to strengthen the federal justice of Santa Fe

The Chamber of Deputies gave half sanction on Tuesday to the bill that provides for the creation of courts and prosecutors in Santa Fe to stop the escalation of violence resulting from drug trafficking, after almost a month of the threat against Lionel Messi in one of the supermarkets of his partner’s family. The bill, which proposes the creation of around 50 charges to strengthen the federal justice of Santa Fe, obtained 214 affirmative votes, 0 negative and 4 abstentions, from the Left Front. Now, the project that provides for the creation of courts and prosecutor’s offices in Santa Fe to stop the escalation of violence resulting from drug trafficking will go to the Senate. The initiative had been presented in May of last year by 18 of the 19 legislators representing the province, but had not advanced until this month when the agenda focused on the cases of shootings and homicides resulting from the actions of drug gangs and with greater emphasis after the threat to the captain of the Argentine national team. It is estimated that the project, which was endorsed by the ruling party and the opposition, will provide solutions in the medium and long term. The discussion lasted more than four hours, although the hall remained mostly empty. Among the complaints of the opposition was the delay in the formation of the bicameral in charge of monitoring and implementing the Criminal Procedure Code, which would expedite by 50% the cases for drug trafficking crimes and others of federal competence, product of the fact that the ruling party in the Senate does not appoint its members in that commission.
