Ricardo Bochini: “I think the best thing Independiente can do is leave Monzón”

The former footballer and idol of Independiente, Ricardo Bochini, said today in an interview that the club’s leadership should bet on the continuity of Pedro Monzón in the position of coach. In dialogue with the program Muy Independiente, the “Bocha” said: “It seems to me that the best thing Independiente can do is leave Monzón because he knows all the players who are in the team, he always identified with the club in the glorious era in which he played. In addition, every time he was interim he put together a team with the style of our history. You don’t have to go around too much, you have to let him work.” In turn, the winner of four Libertadores Cups with the “Red” referred to the style of play that Monzón tries to impose: “He will try to play offensive football and in the long run, with some reinforcements, he can give him results.” On the other hand, he referred to the series of transcendental matches that Independiente will have to face: “You have to support him, apart from these games you have to see how he plays them, but I think he will do it the same way he played against Ciudad de Bolívar, with that style and form that he faced. River, Racing, San Lorenzo have a good squad, but Independiente can match them. Then we will see the result.”
