Russia will only negotiate peace with Ukraine under a “new world order”

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov referred to the possible peace negotiations with Ukraine that can be carried out, but only one condition was set, which is that it be within a “new world order”. Through a press conference he gave with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavusoglu, after a meeting in which they discussed the conflict and grain exports, the Turkish leader blamed Western countries and the United States for not allowing Ukraine to sit at the table of peace negotiations: “They want to be hegemonic and impose their position on everyone. They want a unilateral new world order.” In addition, he added that “negotiations are possible if our just interests are taken into account,” and that his country is in favor of a new world order according to the principles of the UN and not dominated solely by the United States Unidos.Al the same time, Lavrov explained that the West and the US prevent Ukraine from sitting at the negotiating table with the aim of defeating Russia on the battlefield since “after Russia, the new target will be China.” Meanwhile, Çavusoglu spoke about the importance of the agreement for international food security: “We support the removal of obstacles to the export of Russian cereals and fertilizers. The extension of the grains agreement depends on solving these problems.” Finally, the Russian minister closed by stating that “cereals and fertilizers are not on the sanctions list. But Western countries try to tell us that we cannot export. We are tired of appealing to consciences. If the situation of our cereals and fertilizers does not improve, we will reconsider whether we needed this agreement.”
