Master of Rock 2023: Deep Purple, Scorpions and Kiss headlined the first edition of the festival

Last Friday, April 28, around 35 thousand people gathered to attend the Master of Rock festival that was held for the first time in our country on the grounds of the City Park that opened its doors at 12:00 am to receive the local band Horcas that 13:30 began what would be an unforgettable day. Then it would be the turn of the debutants, who had their side show on April 27, Avantasia very well received by the public who enjoyed symphonic power metal and was one of the great presentations of the day. Helloween a classic already of the Czech festival that also, which is also known as Monster of Rock that at 4:00 p.m. took the stage to win over the Argentine public with the voices of Andi Deris and Micahel Kiske and left as a farewell a huge orange balls that they threw to the audience to play in their last song. 17:30 hs punctual would arrive the legend, who had not visited the country for five years, Deep Purple who took the stage with three of their original members to show that they are still valid. And with them would come the first luxury of the night and the moment “mi país” if you want when the keyboardist Don Airey interpreted two tangos, with a wine in between, to excite everyone. Of course there would be “Smoke over the water” and “Highway Star”, which lifted everyone up as the afternoon fell. 19:45 hs would be the turn of the German Scorpions that would take us back to the 80’s with a set list to pure hits and all the rock and roll that injected the public adrenaline and emotion. It was thus that they sounded “Wind Of Changes” that they dedicated to Ukraine with the screens that drew the symbol of peace with the colors of the country, “Send me an Angel”, and the iconic ballad “Still Loving You” that adults and children sang. However, Mikkey Dee’s drum solo was the most applauded moment of the night, after demonstrating the supremacy with the instrument and its charisma with which the public was bought on more than one occasion during the hour show. Finally the appearance of KISS flooded the premises with pure pyrotechnics, histrionics and hits in the framework of their farewell tour “The End of the road World Tour” with which they performed for the second time in the country. There the four rock monsters did not skimp on anything and took their chiches to the stage accompanied by a very rock set list that left out the iconic ballads to make the night an evening of pure metal, in the festival that left several generations happy with the classics of almost five decades and the promise of a goodbye.
