As long as there is not enough budget in health, there will be no happiness: Toño Carreño

Citizen Movement always in favor of health workers
Morelia, Mich. – In Movimiento Ciudadano we have always been in favor of health workers; It is essential that their rights be respected and mainly that they be provided with the basic supplies for the development of their important work in favor of Mexicans and that is that as long as an adequate budget is not allocated to health, there will be no happiness, said Toño Carreño Sosa, according to a statement.
The State Coordinator of the Citizen Movement in Michoacán, criticized that at this point, the health sector still does not guarantee the basic minimum conditions to health workers, for their protection and also for the adequate care of patients who come to different hospitals.
This, he added, causes them to go out to demonstrate to demand that their working conditions be respected, since it would be very serious to increase the deaths of health personnel and patients themselves, given the lack of medicines and neglect of medical conditions.
Toño Carreño added that from Movimiento Ciudadano, special attention has been given to this issue and even forums have been held with specialists, such as the “fourth seminar for the construction of a citizen agenda 2024, A Good Government for Mexico”, which was headed by the senator and National Coordinator, Dante Delgado.

With this, said Carreño Sosa, it shows that Movimiento Ciudadano has a genuine concern to improve the health system in Mexico, since it has resulted in initiatives presented by orange legislators, in the different spaces of popular representation. However, the Congress of the Union has not allocated an adequate budget with the health needs of Mexicans.
In fact, he recalled that the federal deputy Salomón Chertorivski has emphasized that towards 2024 for Movimiento Ciudadano it is a priority to have a project that manages to build a powerful and future health system that goes from curative care to a preventive model of diseases, which attends with quality and homogeneously throughout the country, as well as improving investment in science and technology in health.
Toño Carreño also mentioned that according to a report presented by Amnesty International, during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was estimated that Mexico was the country with the highest contagion of health personnel and despite this, the reprehensible practices of lack of supplies towards them continue.
Another situation that he described as serious, is the lack of medicines for children with cancer, which has resulted in protests from parents who demand adequate care for their children and is that according to members of the National Movement for Health, more than three thousand small oncological have died due to that shortage.
Therefore, Toño Carreño demanded that the situation in the country’s hospitals, including those in Michoacán, be addressed and in this way the promise that we will have a better health system than Denmark’s be fulfilled; “Let’s put aside speeches and demonstrate with deeds,” he concluded.
