$127 million pesos in projects approved for Fortapaz 2023

Morelia, Michoacán. To date, more than 127 million pesos have been authorized in municipal projects and indigenous communities with self-government that, this year, seek to access resources from the Peace Strengthening Fund (Fortapaz), according to a statement.
In a working meeting with the management team of the Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security System, Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla reviewed the progress of the program, which has a joint state-municipal financing of 982 million pesos in total.
It was reported that of the 116 applications submitted by the municipalities, 91 have already been approved and of these, 23 correspond to indigenous communities with self-government, so the rest are in the process of authorization.

The head of SESESP, César Erwin Sánchez Coria, explained that of the 127 million already authorized, 7.4 million will be allocated to indigenous communities to strengthen security in their localities.
Equipment, infrastructure, prevention, video surveillance, radio communication, police dignification, training and civic justice, he added, are some of the requirements presented by the municipalities for Fortapaz.
To which he estimated that before June 15, the deadline to complete files with missing documentation, missing applications from municipalities and indigenous communities will be approved.
