Bedolla lays first stone of Hemodialysis Unit at IMSS La Piedad

$25 million pesos will be invested in the work, which will have the capacity to care for up to 88 patients.
La Piedad, Michoacán. – In order to provide better care to patients with kidney failure, Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, placed the first stone of the Hemodialysis Unit of the General Hospital sub zone no. 7 of the IMSS La Piedad, in which 25 million pesos will be invested and up to 88 patients will be treated, according to a statement.
“Having the unit will allow patients who require the service no longer have to move to Zamora, it is a matter of humanity that enhances the health service offered by the IMSS,” said the governor.
He recalled the excellent coordination with the IMSS, which will allow three more hospitals to be available in the near future, one in Zitácuaro, another in Uruapan and the third in Morelia, achieving greater health coverage for thousands of Michoacans and Michoacanos.
Javier de Jesús Cabral Soto, head of the Michoacán Regional Decentralized Administrative Operation Body of the IMSS, mentioned that Social Security is a partner of the government and this is demonstrated by this work, which will allow to attend a percentage of the 2,500 patients who have the kidney problem, of which, 2,000 receive care in their place of origin and 500 have to move to another municipality.

“We are paying special attention to this sector and therefore, there will be hemodialysis units in Uruapan, Ciudad Hidalgo, Lázaro Cárdenas and La Piedad,” he said.
This Hemodialysis Unit will have an area of 442.98 meters, a waiting room, bathrooms for patients and staff, weight control areas, social work, nutrition, nurses, hemodialysis, hazardous waste storage, waiting for family members and water treatment that is relevant to patient care.
This event was attended by César Manuel Manríquez Solís, head of the Administrative Services Headquarters of the IMSS; Patricia Ortega León, head of the Medical Benefits Headquarters of the IMSS; Rogelio Zarazúa Sánchez, Secretary of Communications and Public Works; Enrique García de León, president of Grupo NUTRES; Berenice Barajas Nieto, Secretary of the Interior of Section XX Michoacán; Francisco Efraín Morales Garibay, director of the IMSS La Piedad Hospital; as well as doctors, staff and beneficiaries.
