Espert, on Milei: “Anti-politics is a lie because he is a professional politician”

With a path increasingly differentiated from his previous ally, the referent of Avanza Libertad, José Luis Espert, criticized Javier Milei for his “anti-political” speech and assured that “it is a lie because he is a professional politician.” After joining Together for Change (JxC), the liberal economist further distanced himself from Milei with strong criticism at the center of his speech. “That’s a lie, because Milei is a professional politician. Otherwise he would not have done politics with Menem in La Rioja or with Bussi in Tucumán. How can you lie like this so rudely? If he got to do politics with politicians. It’s not that you live in a flying saucer doing politics. No, you’re doing politics with politicians,” he said. He also later differentiated his position within JxC. “I am not with Larreta. I am in Together for Change and the fights between Larreta and Bullrich have me absolutely not cared. What we have done is plant the liberal flag within Together for Change giving it a lot of oxygen, a lot of muscle,” he said. In that sense, he pointed out that “in Argentina there is a kind of liberal matrix because everyone is fighting to see who has a quota of liberalism in their speeches,” and commented that liberalism makes “history” with the “landing in the main opposition space with one more seat like the four founding parties of Together for Change.” It is an extraordinary fact. Now liberalism has the political muscle to be able to carry out the reforms that are so demanded so that Argentina does well,” Espert later added.
