Neuquén: more than 60 families were evacuated due to heavy rains and floods

This Saturday met the Provincial Emergency Committee that traveled to Chos Malal to collaborate with the municipal devices because of the consequences left by the storm in the north of the province of Neuquén. Although they reported that “the situation is contained in general terms,” the rains still continue and mentioned that they must work “on the consequences and post-temporal since there are specific situations of evacuation or self-evacuation of families and some isolated areas due to broken roads.” In turn, the Minister of Government and Education, Osvaldo Llancafilo, reported that the Committee is in the first stage where “it works in the containment of families that have suffered directly the consequences of the storm and have had to leave their homes, in some cases they have self-evacuated.” The evacuations and / or self-evacuations reported are 30 families in Chacra Sur Chos Malal, 2 families in Buta Ranquil and another 30 in different localities and rural areas. In that sense, they announced that this Sunday there will be meetings to specifically address the most complex issues that are affecting the entire north of Neuquén in general.” Routes 39, 43, 38, 54 and 53 are cut, so we understand that we have to work on a specific meeting which is road connectivity. We have impassable routes that prevent us from reaching Manzano Amargo, for example, also a complicated situation in El Negrete, between Villa del Nahueve and Las Ovejas, Lileo bridge at the entrance of Guañacos, “reported the official authorities.
The minister indicated that “the rational use of drinking water that families have as a reserve is important,” because “the abundant flow of rivers and streams affected the inlets and treatment plants, so the network water has turbidity and it is necessary to boil before consuming.” Finally, he said: “Today we are going to tour the area to plan the subsequent work for the consequences that the storm will leave and what may arise if the rain persists,” and reported that at 6 p.m. a new committee meeting will be held.
