Sergio Massa against insecurity: “We have to have the Federal Police in Rosario”

At the inauguration of a new operational base in Rosario with the aim of improving security in the area in the face of the problems represented by drug trafficking, Sergio Massa – presidential candidate of the Frente de Todos (FdT) – pointed out the presence of the Federal Police in the city. Curbing the growing insecurity in Rosario is one of the objectives of the Santa Fe government, but the problem has escalated in such a way in recent years that it has its place on the national agenda. In this way, Massa inaugurated a new Gendarmerie base this Saturday and announced the incorporation of 500 troops, added to the 1300 stipulated. In his speech, the current economy minister argued that security must have its place of priority in the national budget to fight crime effectively. “In order to demand results from our security forces, you have to give them all the tools they need. Count on that,” he said, and then promised: “If I’m president, I’m going to restore peace to Rosario.” Along these lines, the presidential candidate pointed out the installation of federal forces in Rosario. “We made the decision, together with the Ministry of Transportation, to make the historic building of the Central Córdoba station available to the Federal Police and install the national superintendence of criminal investigations there,” Massa said.
