A criminal died after shooting with police and robbing a Turkish diplomat in Palermo

A man who along with an accomplice stole the truck of a diplomat from the Turkish Embassy died after a chase with police in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, security force sources reported today. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when two criminals on a motorcycle intercepted a Volkswagen T Cross truck at the intersection of Soldado de la Independencia and Gorostiaga streets. There, one of the criminals took command of the vehicle while his accomplice continued aboard the motorcycle. The vehicle was an official of the Turkish Embassy and in which a diplomat – whose identity was not disclosed – and his driver were mobilized, according to sources detailed to Telam. Then the troops managed to locate two suspects at the intersection of Del Libertador and Sarmiento avenues, so a chase began until Gelly and Salguero streets. The Volkswagen T Cross was intercepted by a patrol car from the Neighboring Police Station 14V, and ended up colliding with a parked vehicle. At that moment, the offender took out a firearm and began to shoot at the police officers, and an armed confrontation ensued, after which, he died. Inside the stolen vehicle, the officers found a firearm, the spokesmen said. Meanwhile, the criminal who was driving the motorcycle managed to flee and the police are looking for him. Meanwhile, the victims of the robbery were unharmed, they added. Criminal and Correctional Court 25 intervened in the case, which ordered that all proceedings in the case be in charge of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA).
