What will be the thematic axes of the 2023 presidential debate

This Sunday, starting at 9 pm, the main candidates for the presidency of Argentina will face each other in the presidential debate at the Provincial Forum Convention Center in Santiago del Estero. This event is part of the general elections of October 22 and is of utmost importance for voters who want to know the positions and proposals of the candidates for the highest office in the country. The presidential debate, established by law in 2016, will be moderated by four journalists: Rodolfo Barili (Telefé), Evangelina Ramallo (Canal 9 Litoral-ATA), Esteban Mirol (Canal 9), and Lucila Trujillo (TV Pública-C5N). They will be in charge of posing the questions and guiding the different segments in which the candidates will participate and share their opinions. For the day of October 1, two specific thematic axes are defined: Economy and Education. In accordance with the established regulations, each candidate will have two minutes without interruptions to present their position in an order previously established by lot. After a 12-minute advertising break, the second round of debate will proceed, with the axis called “Human rights and democratic coexistence”. It is important to note that this is only the first presidential debate, since the second debate, scheduled for Sunday, October 8, will take place at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires, in CABA. In that instance, the candidates will discuss the axes “Security”, “Work and production”, and “Human development, housing and environmental protection”.
