FGE sentences man to more than 27 years for homicide of his 12-year-old son

Morelia, Michoacán. – The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) obtained a conviction of 27 years and six months in prison against Raúl G., for proving his responsibility in the crime of homicide due to kinship, committed to the detriment of his 12-year-old son, in this city.
In an oral trial, the agent of the Public Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated that since 2019, Raúl G. repeatedly exercised physical violence against the minor, causing a serious deterioration in his health, which resulted in him presenting traumas to the head, abdomen, wounds, ulcers, malnutrition, among others.
On February 5, 2021, after Raúl G. beat the minor, he lost his life due to mechanical asphyxia due to bronchoaspiration, as well as blows to different parts of the body and compression on vital organs.

Due to these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office for Intentional Homicide initiated an Investigation File and carried out the corresponding actions, which made it possible to establish the participation of Raúl G. in the events, of whom he requested an arrest warrant before the Control Judge, which was completed by personnel of the institution.
After uncovering each of the evidence provided by the Prosecutor’s Office, a trial court found Raúl G. guilty, and issued a conviction against him and imposed a sentence of 27 years and six months in prison against him, as well as the payment of reparation for the damage
