Different associations call for the release of Argentine hostages kidnapped by Hamas

Relatives of people kidnapped by Hamas, together with the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA), the Delegation of Argentine Israelite Associations (DAIA) and the Argentine Zionist Organization (OSA), launched an online petition to “achieve the immediate release of the Argentines kidnapped” by the radical Palestinian Islamist movement and will send a letter to President Alberto Fernández to intervene and demand the release of the hostages. The entity pointed out that adherence to the claim can be done through the link www.change.org/DevuelvanALosRehenes, and requested to share it on social networks under the hashtag #Libérenlos. “Of the more than 200 people kidnapped by Hamas, it is estimated that 10% are Argentines,” said the petition, which urges the national state to “raise its voice and demand the immediate release of the hostages.” All the signatures that adhere to the petition published on the Change.org platform will be added to the letter that will be sent to Fernández, and which was signed by Amos Linetzky, Jorge Knovblovits, and Demián Stratievsky, presidents of AMIA, DAIA and OSA, respectively.” The community institutions that we represent and the undersigned write to you to request that you kindly demand, through the formal channels that the Executive Branch provides, the immediate release of the people with Argentine citizenship who have been kidnapped by Hamas since October 7,” begins the letter that will be sent to the Argentine president. It is also highlighted that “Argentina is a world reference for its historical struggle to defend the validity of human rights” and that in the year of the 40th anniversary of the return to democracy, “the national State must raise its voice before the concert of nations, to demand the prompt release of the people who, victims of the most savage terrorist acts, remain detained and kidnapped.” Among them is an important group of compatriots, who expect our help and our maximum efforts to put an end to this terrifying ordeal,” concludes the letter signed by the heads of AMIA, DAIA and OSA.
