Lil Troca presented “Loyalty”, his debut album: “I’m always trying to evolve my music without getting out of who I am”

After releasing his debut album “Loyalty” last Thursday, Enzo Giménez – known in the music world for his aka Lil Tropa – had a dialogue with Filo.News in which he reviewed the process of making the songs, explained the most important concepts of the album and announced the next steps in his career. As a background to the album, Troca chose to base himself on the concept of “Loyalty”, which he defines as “a virtue, something that represents me a lot; It’s the loyalty that I look for in my bonds or the loyalty that I have to myself.” On the creation of his debut album, which was released on Thursday, October 26, the rapper explained how he dealt with the anxiety to frame the concept and respect the process. It was really difficult to be honest because I did a lot of songs that I ended up discarding and I tried not to be killed by the anxiety of finishing it as quickly as possible. I wanted the concept to be as marked as possible, I wanted all the songs to mean something and for each one to have a feeling, a different emotion, and I think in the end I was able to achieve that,” he said. Another mystery surrounding Troca’s first album is that, focused on giving it a personal tinge, it didn’t include any collaboration. “More than anything, I had thought of the album for the live shows, I tried to always have the concept of Loyalty and that it covers quite a few moments of the shows. That it has pogo moments, moments for people to feel something, a gift to the public. I wanted it to be something just mine and to be able to play it anywhere without having a feat,” the rapper remarked. Troca also weighed the importance of the release of his first album, in which he ventured into different musical genres, after a four-year career. “I’m always trying to evolve my music without leaving who I am and the messages I want to give, I’m always trying to get to know new rhythms. It’s my job, my lifestyle and it’s also what I like to have fun with, I couldn’t do rap all my life or just one genre, I like to cover more,” he reflected. Behind the concept of loyalty, the rapper put the focus of the album on “Herencia” -in collaboration with producer Awesome Pierre-, one of the last songs he made. “‘Herencia’ is the focus track of the album, and as soon as I finished recording it, it became my favorite. It’s the song that has the most energy, I also say a lot of things that represent me a lot, and I like it because I think it’s going to be the most powerful for the live show. It’s more for people to pogo,” he summed up. Accompanied by the MDB since the beginning of his career, Troca today values the way in which he released his first song, with the initiative of C.R.O.: “The MDB was very important, even my first song, ‘Lágrimas’, was uploaded by C.R.O. and I didn’t even know I had uploaded it. One day we recorded it in Plottier, which is where he lived, and when I came back to Cutral Co I had already uploaded it and I didn’t even know it. So yes, they’re the most important thing, thanks to them I make music.” After releasing the album, the next step for Troca is the tour in which he will accompany CRO in his concerts in Montevideo, Córdoba, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Neuquén and Mendoza, and then he will present “Loyalty” at La Trastienda -on November 29th”, with guest artists.
