FGE arrests psychiatrist allegedly responsible for rape and sexual abuse

Morelia, Michoacán.- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE), arrested Sergio Martín “N” allegedly responsible for the crimes of rape and sexual abuse, committed to the detriment of two patients; events that occurred in the municipality of Morelia.
According to data contained in the Investigation Folder, the first of the cases occurred in the months of April, May and June, when Sergio Martín “N” sexually assaulted one of his patients who was undergoing treatment.
Subsequently, on July 31, the specialist administered a medication to a patient who came to the clinic and when he saw her under the effect of the drug, he abused her.
This was reported to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes of Family and Gender Violence, which initiated the corresponding proceedings, which made it possible to establish the possible participation of Sergio Martín “N” in the crimes and requested an arrest warrant, which was given and completed by personnel of the institution.
The detainee was transferred to the local penitentiary and placed at the disposal of the court which will decide his legal situation.
FGE reaffirms its commitment to maintain actions so that no event threatens the integrity of Michoacan women.
