Runoff: Seven arrested in Buenos Aires

In the framework of this Sunday’s runoff between the candidate of the ruling party, Sergio Massa, and the opposition candidate Javier Milei, the Police arrested seven people for different infractions in the province of Buenos Aires, between theft of ballots and arrest warrants. Early in the morning, Judge Maria Servini reported that police officers arrested a 16-year-old minor for the theft of LLA ballots. “We just detained a 16-year-old who was stealing ballots from Milei,” he said. Later, a 48-year-old woman was detained by members of the Neighborhood Police Station when she wrote on a wall of a school in Belgrano: “Milei=Israel=War.” Also in the City of Buenos Aires, a man and a woman were arrested for stealing ballots from LLA, the former had taken 11 ballots, while the latter had 40 ballots in her possession. In the municipality of Ensenada, a man who had been wanted by the justice system since July showed up to vote and was arrested on the arrest warrant against him. The charges include the crimes of “sexual abuse with carnal access”, “aggravated corruption of minors” and “grooming”. In the same situation, the police later arrested another suspect, 33, accused of “sexual abuse with carnal access aggravated by the pre-existing situation of cohabitation and for being in charge of the guardianship”. Likewise, at the headquarters of the UTN located in Lavalle and Medrano, agents of the 5A Neighborhood Police Station apprehended a man accused of trying to steal the cell phone of a Public TV worker.
