Written by Aldana Del GiudiceMovies are an important part of our growth stage. Its characters and stories accompany us as we discover what life is all about and, over time, they become our safe place. The “Back to the Future” trilogy became the favorite of a generation that, in the form of a legacy, shared its passion to the next so that the passion continues to be latent. Today, the film is already a classic and is on the list of titles that you could watch more than a thousand times and never get tired of. On November 25, the Konex Cultural Center will be hosting La Fiesta del Futuro, a festival-themed celebration to honor the saga. In addition, there will be live music, rides, cosplay contest, dancing and two luxury guests: Marvin Berry (Harry Waters Jr.) and Mayor Goldie Wilson (Donald Fullilove). From Filo.news, we were able to chat exclusively with the artists about the event and the fanaticism behind “Back to the Future”. How does it feel to be part of such an iconic film that marked a generation? Donald Fullilove: “As actors, we had a job. We just wanted to do our job and had no idea that, years later, we would be here. It’s very cute.” “Back to the Future” A classic? Harry Waters Jr: “Because your grandchildren can see it. You don’t even have to explain the jokes to them. And no one dies.” Donald Fullilove: “It’s a story for the whole family. There are stories that every family can relate to. And then there’s a flying DeLorean. And we still don’t have flying cars.” What were your first impressions when you read your lines? Harry Waters Jr: “My acting brain was like, ‘Oh my God. How do I make sense of this?’ So, I trusted the director and told him to tell me what I needed to know. Fortunately, my involvement in the film was very specific, about dancing. I was supposed to play guitar, but I don’t. A boy who was about to disappear is playing guitar. And then there’s this rock n’ roll musician. I don’t get it and I call my cousin Chuck.” Back to the Future” was recorded twice: first with Eric Stoltz and then with Michael J. Fox. How different were they? Donald Fullilove: “Eric is a very good dramatic actor, but “Back to the Future” it required timing that Eric wasn’t able to give. Then, along came Michael Fox and the rest is history.” Harry, you were singing with the cast of “Back to the Future: The Musical.” What was that experience like? Harry Waters Jr: “It was amazing because I got to be involved with Jelani Remy, the actor who plays Marvin Berry and Mayor Goldie Wilson. We didn’t have an orchestra, but there was the whole cast singing behind us and an audience singing and partying.”
