“Stop your hand, Milei!”: the statement of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo in repudiation of Bullrich’s protocol

With the protocol installed by the new government that implies zero tolerance for pickets and mobilizations, the organization of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo issued a statement in repudiation of the system recently promoted by the current Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich. The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo repudiate as violent, unconstitutional and fascist the protocol against popular mobilizations announced by the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich,” they said in the first lines of the statement released through their social networks. Along these lines, the organization said that “with the measure, the government assumes for itself powers that are proper to the Judiciary, violating the minimum guarantees that distinguish a democratic system from a dictatorship.” Likewise, Madres maintained that “in addition, it consecrates espionage against social, political and union organizations under the pretext of public security.” Regarding the modification of different policies with the assumption of the new administration, the organization pointed out that “the only insecurity is the one that the government has decreed with the economic measures and the hyperinflationary process that they have unleashed” and remarked that the popular resistance “will be unstoppable and, sooner or later, will express itself in the streets.” The Mothers have carried out 2383 peaceful, but profoundly political, marches in the Plaza de Mayo every Thursday. We will continue to be there until the people are happy as our children wanted. Today more than ever, we say: Stop your hand, Milei! Not one step back!” concludes the text shared by the organization.
