Morelia, Michoacán. The state coordinator of the PRD, Octavio Ocampo Cordova, said at a press conference that they do not feel pressure from the opposition and its pre-candidates for the federal senate.
“We don’t care what happens to the other side, with whom we are going to compete, we don’t care who is going to participate.”
Regarding the way in which MORENA selected its internal candidates for the congress of the union, Ocampo Córdova believes that it will create an internal division in the party and that it was a very big setback for Carlos Torres Piña, who was in the fight for a candidacy.
“In their famous polls, they end up being undone polls, they end up being impositions as has been the selection of MORENA’s candidates since its creation, what I do believe is that the internal division of that political party is going to become more acute, it seems to me that it is a tremendous blow, especially to the one who promoted one of the aspirants and came from being Secretary of Government.”
Finally, the leader was optimistic about next year’s elections and predicted great results for the opposition coalition.
“We will be doing our job, we are going to win the main municipalities, the fifteen municipalities where more than fifty percent of the nominal list is concentrated, the majority of the Frente Amplio has them and that is a guarantee for us to win the Senate, win the majority of the federal deputies, of course win the majority in the State Congress again and ratify many municipalities that today we govern together as an alliance.”
