Radio Nacional: 500 employee contracts were not renewed

The vice president of the board of directors of Radio and Television Argentina (RTA) in charge of the presidency, Javier Monte, confirmed this Friday that the contracts of 500 employees of Radio Nacional were not renewed. Given the budgetary adversity we have at the moment and what is happening politically, we have not renewed the artistic contracts. We have a budget for the year 2022 that was executed in 2023, redirected to 2024. We are hyper-complicated in the budgetary part for the guarantee of salaries,” Monte said in dialogue with Télam On the reasons for the termination of 500 contracts at Radio Nacional.Monte pointed out that those contracts “expired on December 31” and “were not renewed,” but affirmed that “the contract of 86 workers was renewed” in the same situation “at the request of the management.” You may also be interested in: “The Government sent the DNU to Congress and it entered through the Senate”The radical leader assured that he is not “an official of this government” and that he “has taken care of this inconvenience”, in reference to the expiration of the contracts during the assumption of his position on a temporary basis until the national administration appoints a new authority. I am here in defense of the public media and not its closure,” Monte said.

“I’m going to dialogue as much as necessary with the Intergremial of the National Radio. Yesterday I met with Satsaid, with Sipreba, the unions that are in Public TV. We are in constant contact and we are working together to be able to carry out this difficult transition,” said Monte.
