Morelia, Michoacán.- There is nothing more delicious than hearing and smelling the onion and tomato seasoned in the clay pots and the handmade corn tortillas cooked on a charcoal stove; These are just some of the basic ingredients that accompany Michoacan dishes and that make the national gastronomy a true treasure, they said in a statement.
In 2010, UNESCO declared Mexican gastronomy as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where the contribution of our traditional Purépecha cooks and their great cultural richness was the key to this decision and that to this day has kept alive its rich gastronomic culture.
A legacy that is still more alive than ever, since traditional cooks, through the registration made by the Government of Michoacán, are finalists in the Gourmet Excellence Awards 2023, which will take place on January 24 at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), in Madrid, Spain.
This great recognition can be achieved with the contribution of everyone, since the voting is open to the general public, who will decide the winner.
