UN condemns attack on journalist Yolanda Caballero in Tijuana – MonitorExpresso.com

Mexico. – The United Nations (UN), through the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Mexico, shared a statement condemning the attack against journalist Yolanda Caballero, calling on the Mexican authorities to investigate and punish the incident.
Through its social networks, the international organization asked the Mexican authorities to guarantee protection to people who practice journalism and freedom of expression.
“We condemn the attack against journalist Yolanda Caballero Jacobo in Tijuana. We call on authorities at all levels to adopt measures to comply with their obligations to respect freedom of expression and protect those who practice journalism,” he said.

In addition, he encouraged prayers for investigations, expressed solidarity with the journalist and the Baja California union.
