Cruz Cafuné prior to his show at C Complejo Art Media: “I’m very, very eager to return to Buenos Aires”

Ahead of the official presentation of his third album, the Spanish rapper Cruz Cafuné returns to our country and from Filo.news We caught up with him to see how he’s preparing ahead of his show at C Complejo Art Media on February 18th.1. Your third album, ‘Me muevo con Dios’, is a couple of months away from its first anniversary. What do you feel about the journey that the songs have made?
People have connected so much with the work and continue to listen to it to this day, I can only be grateful. I don’t normally visit the music I put out, just to rehearse the shows, but with this album I do feel like it’s aging well. It was a lot of work from the whole team, so I’m happy to see the results.
2. In the album you include a collaboration with an Argentinian artist, Chita, how did that ft come about and what was it like working with her?
I met her because she worked on a song with Choclock, one of my best friends since I was a teenager and a regular collaborator on everything I put out. He told me about her, he told me she was a crack in the studio and I loved it from the first song he played me. We met in person in Buenos Aires last year and talking came naturally, I proposed to do something together and a couple of months later when she came to Madrid everything went in just one study session. It’s those kind of “eureka moments” when everything comes together and the song almost writes itself3. Beyond Chita, there are many Argentinian artists that I see who admire your work, do you have contact with any of them?
When we came the first time we met Ca7riel, a fierce guy, I admire him a lot. I have shared with Duki, with Rei, the last time Ysy came to Madrid we were able to get to know each other. It’s a vibrant scene in Argentina, with very different profiles and everyone has something new to bring to the table, I would like to be able to strengthen ties over time.4. Do you feel that ‘Me muevo con Dios’ planted you in a different way as an artist, both for the industry and for the audience that listens to your music?
I can imagine it, but it’s hard for me to see myself from the outside. People tell me, more and more people come to the shows, the album is still being listened to… So yes, I understand that it’s connected with the listeners, but I don’t put a lot of thought into that, I just want to keep going into the studio and for my people to be okay5. What show can the audience expect from Argentina and what do you expect from this show?
Let them jump, let them shout, let them sing, let them have fun. I really want to go back to Buenos Aires, I just need all of us to be in the same place.Tickets to see Cruz Cafuné at Complejo C Art Media on February 18 are available by clicking here.
