Morelia, Michoacán. – Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla and the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, endorsed the commitment to continue supporting the population through welfare programs, according to a statement from the State Government.In their visit to Morelia to review the progress of the different social programs, they agreed to reinforce the coverage of beneficiaries and thus enhance development in Michoacán.Ramírez Bedolla stressed that the entity invests 31 billion pesos in welfare programs and affirmed that the reform initiatives presented by the president to elevate these actions to constitutional rank are supported. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador pointed out that in Michoacán there are 27,731 young people within the Youth Building the Future program, almost 500,000 older adults with pensions, 6,919 basic level schools with a budget for maintenance with La Escuela es Nuestra, around 12,000 producers in Sembrando Vida, among other beneficiaries. In addition, education is supported and “Michoacán is the only state where the Federation provides special support for teachers to receive their salaries and benefits on time.” The event was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Víctor Villalobos, and the head of the Universities for Welfare, Raquel Sosa, among other officials.
