A motorcyclist died when he collided with a car driven by a former Rosario Central and River soccer player

A motorcyclist died this Friday in Rosario when he collided with a car that was driven by former Rosario Central and River Plate soccer player, Daniel Sperandío, police sources reported. The road accident occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Belgrano Avenue and Pellegrini Boulevard, on the central coast of the city. According to the first information provided by police spokesmen, the two vehicles were traveling in the same direction, from south to north, on Belgrano Avenue.For reasons that are a matter of investigation, the motorcycle driven by a young man, whose identity was not released, collided with the car driven by the former soccer player and now player representative. The driver of the motorcycle, an Enduro type, hit his head on the pavement after hitting the car, and was treated at the scene by personnel from the Rosario public emergency service, who were unable to prevent his death as a result of his injuries. Sperandio, who won the Copa Libertadores with River Plate in 1986, was traveling in a Volkswagen. The former footballer gave statements on a local radio station and said that the motorcycle hit one of the sides of his car. I was coming in the same direction, he passed me, he was coming at an impressive speed,” said the former midfielder. He further added that the motorcyclist was driving without a helmet and was a young person. The Prosecutor’s Office of Culpable Homicide of Rosario intervened in the case, since the Accident Cabinet of the Investigative Police was ordered both to survey cameras in the area and to collect testimonies at the scene. Medical personnel were also summoned to carry out narco and breathalyzer controls on Sperandío, who also gave a statement on how the road accident happened.
