CONICET was distinguished as the best scientific institution in Latin America

The National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) consolidates its position as a leader in the field of scientific research in Latin America, since, for the sixth consecutive year, it won first place in the Scimago Institutions Ranking. innovation and social development. In addition, the La Plata Scientific and Technological Center, the Scientific Research Commission and the NOA Sur Scientific and Technological Center, among other references of the national industry, were highlighted. The analysis of the Scimago Institutions Ranking not only highlights the work of CONICET at the regional level, but also places it as the government institution with the greatest social impact in Latin America. At the same time, globally, it ranks 13th out of 1870 government institutions worldwide. It is worth noting that this award is given in a context in which there is a strong confrontation between the scientific community and the National Government based on the statements and measures promoted by President Javier Milei.
