A drunk driver rammed 10 people in Salta: three dead and seven injured

A tragic event took place during the early hours of Saturday in Salta when a driver with 1.02 alcohol in his blood rammed 10 people at the exit of a bowling alley, causing the death of three people and leaving seven injured, of which two are hospitalized in intensive care. The ongoing investigation will try to determine the reasons why the young man lost control of his Renault Fluence in the heavy rain and ran over 10 people who were leaving a bowling alley in the area. As a result of the incident, the Unit for Serious Attacks against Persons ordered the arrest of the driver of the vehicle and his passenger. According to the first reports, after the episode, which happened around 5:20 a.m., the young man tried to change lanes and crashed into a palm tree, and then tried to escape, but was held back by witnesses who were in the vicinity of the place. According to the testimony of the people who witnessed the event, the driver was driving at high speed when he hit near the exit of the bowling alley. Local police personnel and ambulances from the General Directorate of Emergencies SAMEC went to the scene after the call to Emergencies from witnesses, while the driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test that showed that he had 1.02 alcohol in his blood, far exceeding the 0.0 indicated by law. The tragic episode ended with the lives of two people who died on the spot, and the third victim was taken to San Bernardo Hospital, but died from the severity of his injuries. Among the seven injured in the incident, two women are hospitalized in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
