Mauricio Macri assumes the presidency of the PRO with two central objectives

Mauricio Macri will take office on Tuesday as president of the PRO for the first time in two decades of history. Despite being the founder of the space, the former president never held the highest position of the yellow party. The former president will be the only candidate in the internal elections on March 19, the deadline to submit nominations to make up the leadership leadership. Today, therefore, will be the transfer of command between the current head of the party, Patricia Bullrich, and Macri.Meanwhile, negotiations continue to define the two vice-presidencies, the General Secretariat and other key positions within the party’s organizational chart. The former president’s purpose will be to unify the party after the division caused within the space by last year’s internal election between Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Patricia Bullrich during the presidential campaign. In addition, he will try to strengthen it with the base placed in the provinces, mainly in Entre Ríos, Chubut and the Federal Capital, where the PRO obtained better results than in the national contest. Another of the central points of the next administration will be to define how the PRO will face the possibility, for now incipient, of making an alliance with La Libertad Avanza, something that is rejected by different internal aspects of the yellow party.
