After the storm that hit the province of Buenos Aires; CABA and surroundings, where the National Meteorological Service warned of a red alert level, two teenagers aged 14 and 17 are intensely searched for in the Buenos Aires districts of Brandsen and San Martín. On the one hand, the 17-year-old boy was swept away by the current when he jumped to swim in a ditch in the town of José León Suárez, San Martín district. The teenager, named Brian, was around 10:30 a.m. with two friends with whom he went swimming in the José Ingenieros channel that flows into the Reconquista River and which, due to the storm, had grown. The victim’s mother called 911 and personnel from the Fifth Police Station of San Martín were present at the scene. According to the 37-year-old woman, the minor was bare-chested and was wearing Chacarita shorts. According to the characteristics released by the authorities, the teenager has a dark complexion, thin and has short hair with highlights. Civil Defense and Volunteer Firefighters began around 3 p.m. the raking tasks that continued until about 6 p.m. due to lack of sunlight and will be renewed from 7:30 a.m. on Thursday with divers, motor boats and kayaks. On the other hand, another 15-year-old teenager was swept away by the current of the Samborombón Chico River, in the Buenos Aires district of Brandsen, about 40 kilometers west of La Plata and was intensely sought by the authorities. Sheriff Luciano Eneas, in charge of the search, indicated that the boy threw himself into the waters at noon from a bridge, when it was hot, and that at that moment he disappeared. The search had to be interrupted after a few hours due to the thunderstorm,” he told Infobrandsen. According to the director of Buenos Aires Civil Defense, Fabián García, both minors “were carrying out swimming activities, which is very dangerous in these conditions.” RecommendationsIn the face of weather alerts for storms and wind, the population is recommended to stay indoors from buildings or houses, away from windows, take care of pets, have clear patio and balcony grilles, and be attentive to alerts and updates from weather services.
