ABBA commemorates half a century since the release of their album “Waterloo”

Several years after their Eurovision win, ABBA is still a benchmark in pop music. This week, the Swedish group’s second album, “Waterloo”, released in 1974, turns 50 years old and to celebrate it Universal Music Group prepared a special anniversary reissue. The new edition of the album that brought Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid to international fame, will be available from April 5, 2024. Featuring a 45 RPM 2LP vinyl remastered at half speed, fans will be able to immerse themselves in ABBA’s timeless music with exceptional sound quality. In addition, the exclusive box set will include singles released in 1974, providing a unique opportunity to relive the hits that defined an era. But the celebration doesn’t stop at the music. On April 4, London’s O2 Arena will be transformed into the stage for an exclusive party for ABBA fans. With the vibrant city of London as a backdrop, attendees will be able to dance to the Swedish group’s hits in a silent disco. In addition to music, fashion will also play a prominent role in the celebration of “Waterloo.” The new anniversary clothing line will transport attendees back to the golden age of pop, with designs inspired by the band’s iconic style and ’70s fashion.
