Champions League: Real Madrid crowned champions after beating Borussia

At Wembley Stadium in London, England, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 and won the Champions League for the fifteenth time. But the lack of effectiveness doomed the result. In the 20th minute, Borussia had a clear opportunity through a sublime pass that led to Karim Adeyemi’s unmarking, but, in front of the goalkeeper, the footballer made the wrong decision and could not control the ball. Three minutes later, it was Niklas Füllkrug who had a unique chance, but was denied the post for the first of the match. With constant attacks, the German team subdued Ancelotti’s team for the rest of the first half, with undisputed dominance. At the start of the second half, Real Madrid recovered and took control of the match, and in the 74th minute, after two impressive saves from Gregor Köbel, they managed to score the first with a header from Daniel Carvajal.Ten minutes later, Jude Bellingham took advantage of a poor start in defence of the rival team and set up Vinicus Júnior, who used his speed to take the lead and finished with quality to seal the 2-0 victory. With this afternoon’s title, Real Madrid added the fifteenth Champions League to their trophy cabinet, far surpassing the rest of the world as the winner of the most international titles (31).
