The Lions have a confirmed roster for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The coach of the Lions, Mariano Ronconi, revealed this Friday the list of call-ups that will play in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In total, 16 players and three reserves will go to the Olympic event. From the roster, Tomás Santiago, Juan Ignacio Catán, Nicolás Della Torre, Tadeo Marcucci, Iñaki Minadeo, Federico Monja, Santiago Tarazona, Lucas Toscani, Bautista Capurro, Tomás Domene and Lucas Martínez will make their Olympic debut. On the other hand, those who already know what it is to compete in an Olympic Games are Agustín Bugallo, Thomas Habif, Maico Casella, Matías Rey and Agustín Mazzilli. The latter two won the gold medal in Rio de Janeiro 2016.Among the reserves, are goalkeeper Nehuén Hernando, midfielder Tobias Martins and striker Nicolás Keenan. Argentina is among the 12 teams that will play in the tournament. They got the ticket to Paris after winning Pan American gold in Santiago 2023. In the Olympic competition, the 12 teams are distributed in two groups of 6 teams each. The Lions share Group B with Belgium, India, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.The national team will have its debut on Saturday, July 27 against Australia from 8.15 (Argentine time) then they will play the next 4 matches within the group stage. The quarterfinals will take place on August 4, the semifinals on August 6 and the closing matches on August 8.
