Alert for extreme cold in Buenos Aires and four other provinces

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that five provinces will be affected by extreme cold over the next few days. The most affected will be Santa Cruz, followed by Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Córdoba and San Luis. In addition, in the south of the country the complications caused by snowfall and low temperatures continue. After specialists announced the arrival of a cold air mass from the south of the continent that will cause a pronounced drop in temperatures in different parts of the country, the SMN warned that the coldest region of the day will be the mountain range area of Santa Cruz and its surroundings, where a red alert for extreme cold will be in force. In the case of Buenos Aires, the south of Entre Ríos, part of the south of Córdoba and the east of San Luis will be activated a yellow alert. Unlike the maximum alert, the specialists explained that these can be considered dangerous, but that they would put risk groups at greater risk, that is, children, people over 65 years of age and patients with chronic diseases.
