L arbiter María Belén Carvajal Peña enter in the history of Chilean football, then this Wednesday the referees Commission confirmed his designation as a main judge of the match in the second Division between independent of Cauquenes and Colchagua CD.
This meeting of the national male professional football will be the first to be directed by an arbiter, something that is already being done in other countries as in Uruguay with Claudia Umpiérrez or Germany with Bibiana Steinhaus. Or also to global level with the participation of the Swiss judge Esther Staubli in the match of the under 17 World – India 2017 between Japan with New Caledonia.
Carvajal, of 35 years, his feeling after receiving the news commented: “not what expected me, came as a surprise.
