The idea of creating special days with offers for virtual purchases arose in the United States in the year 2005, when Internet access was still very limited. With time and thanks to the global digital boom, more countries have joined these initiatives by creating even their own versions, such as Cyber Day in Chile.

In the U.S. the Black Friday was created in the decade of the ‘ 50 and applied to physical stores. In 2005 the Cyber Monday emerged in the same country as a younger but digital brother and began to take power with the time and advancement of technology. Currently both events are digital, but in North America the Cyber Monday is the leading in sales, registering more than US $7 billion in transactions only in 2018. In Chile, the Cyber Monday has been developed since the year 2011 and more and more companies are joining the day of eCommerce, which in its version 2017 reached sales of US $190 million. Meanwhile, the Cyber Day was implemented in Chile in 2014 as a measure proposed by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS), in order to encourage online buying and selling within the country, achieving more than 1.5 million transactions in its last edition. It is one of the most important massive shopping events in the country and brings together hundreds of brands that offer discounts of up to 70%. The initiative that is carried out by the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago, this year will begin on Monday May 27 from 00:00 and will end on Wednesday May 29 at 23:59 hours. During this period, 216 brands of all kinds will offer significant discounts on their products. All brands participating in the Cyber Day can be reviewed at www.cyberdaychile.cl and the basic recommendation is to make purchases at the official sites of each trade. An additional data to expedite the transactions is to register previously on each platform and thus not wasting time in entering the data at the time of purchase.
