Mexico.- The price of gasoline was intermittent at the beginning of this year, Pemex customers have preferred the Magna, which has dropped 30 cents per liter in the last three months, while premium gasoline users have seen an increase of 74 cents between February and May. The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), which tracks the price of petrol, said Magna petrol has dropped in price for the third month in a row since March. Between March and May, a reduction in the preic of gasoline of 30 cents per litre has accumulated. The national average price in May was $19.44. In March it was sold at $19.74.June would be the fourth consecutive month with a drop in the price of Magna gasoline, PETROIntelligence reported. This month’s official petrol price report will be released in mid-July on CRE’s official website. On the other hand, Pemex’s Premium petrol, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission, has seen a price increase over the past three months. In February the price of Premium sold at $20.21 pesos per liter. Subsequently in May, the average price of Premium gasoline was $20.95 per liter. Approximately 30.4 million cars circulating in Mexico consume Magna gasoline, with a daily average of 646.2 thousand barrels. This represents 84.6% of total demand. This makes Pemex Magna gasoline the most consumed and preferred by users.
Magna gasoline represents $433.5 billion pesos annually. While Premium gasoline, it represents an income of $79 billion pesos. Premium gasoline is consumed by approximately 5.5 million units, an average of 117.5 thousand barrels per day consumed, making it 15.4% of the total consumption of these hydrocarbons.
