The “Chocorrol”, a man identified as the alleged leader of a gang dedicated to the theft of cell phones and wallets in the Metro, was released a day after his arrest, because no allegations were filed against him, sources from the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (PGJCDMX).

The assailant had been arrested on Tuesday, July 2, at the Tacuba Metro station and was made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office; however, hours later he was released in the absence of formal allegations against him, although the authorities urged users to do so after his capture.

According to the Metro Collective Transport System (STCM), the arrest of the “Chocorrol” was given through research that they carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Citizen Security, through the analysis of the images obtained with video surveillance cameras.
