Morelia, Michoacán.- A kidnap victim was rescued after ministerial police, supported by the Federal Police and Michoacan Police, shot down three suspected criminals during a clash on the Morelia-Pátzcuaro highway, morelated State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
According to the police authorities, on 10 July a 21-year-old was deprived of his liberty in the municipality of Uruapan. The kidnappers later contacted the relatives to demand a strong monetary payment in exchange for releasing him.
In the face of such a situation, the relatives of the person concerned chose to report the facts to the FGE, so the agents of the Unit of Specialist in Combating Kidnapping (UECS) took care of the case and initiated the inquiries.
It transpired that a first payment was made, which was given to the malhabitants the previous Friday; the second part of the money was agreed for last Monday afternoon.
The stipulated day was reached, but the wrongdoers when they saw the agents opened fire, as the uniforms counterattacked and eliminated three assailants, who were thrown into a village of Uruapilla, in the Morelia region.
The inquiries continued and the location of the abductee, who was locked in a home of the colony Ampliación Jardines del Sur, corresponding to the capital of Michoacana, from where he was finally rescued safely.
