Buenos Aires official Carlos Pedrini found dead

The head of the Housing Institute of the City of Buenos Aires (IVC), Carlos Pedrini, was found dead on Tuesday at his home in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Parque Chacabuco.After a 911 call, the death of Pedrini, 48, was confirmed, and a case was initiated to investigate the causes of death by the Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 32.In a statement, The City Government explained that “Carlos María Pedrini was an Argentine politician, belonging to the Republican Proposal (PRO) party. He joined the civil service in 2004. She worked in the Ministry of Social Development under the management of María Eugenia Vidal and Carolina Stanley. In 2015 he was appointed Secretary of Management and Institutional Articulation of the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation. Then they continued: “In 2018 he took over as Secretary of Social Policy Articulation of the new Ministry of Health and Social Development. In 2020 he was appointed as representative of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to the Matanza Riachuelo Basin Authority (Acumar). In 2022 he assumed the Secretariat of Integral Welfare of the City of Buenos Aires. There he stood out for his management capacity in the popular neighborhoods of the city and articulation with social movements,” detailed the City.And completed: “Since September 2023 he served as president of the Housing Institute of the CABA (IVC).” In addition, the judicial proceedings were in charge of the Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 32, which carried out proceedings for “investigation of doubtful death”. One of the first political leaders to mourn the death was Juan Grabois, who on his X account said: “I deeply regret the death of Carlos Pedrini, leader of Together for Change, political rival, good official and better person. We saw him work with effort and without prejudice, open to dialogue, trying to avoid cracks, doing from his worldview what he believed was best for the people. My heartfelt condolences to his family and children.” He was also bid farewell by the Buenos Aires deputy, Alejandro Finocchiaro: “Today Carlos Pedrini passed away, with whom I had been united by 25 years of shared work. All my love in his memory and my condolences to his family and friends.”
