International.- Guillermo del Toro received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The director posed with the flag of Mexico after receiving recognition from Lana del Rey and J.J. Abrams. The Mexican was grateful and couldn’t help but mention that “it’s weird” and that “we really deserve to be who we are.”
Her accompaniment included Lana del Rey, Ron Perlman, J. J. Abrams, Ted Danson, Elliott Gould and Mary Steenburgen. She was the singer one of the two celebrities who introduced the Star to the Mexican director.
“In a culture of equality, he is completely himself, and that’s the best lesson I get from all his stories,” she said, she collaborates with the Jaliciense with a cover -Season of the Witch – for her film Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark.
During his acceptance speech, Guillermo el Toro took the opportunity to talk about what distinguishes him from others:
There are two things I’d like to make clear today: number one I’m weird and I really love the opportunity we all have to be weird, to be what we want to do and as long as we keep it as something that nourishes our souls we deserve it , we deserve to be who we are. There were always strange people like me and they are here, they gave me hope, this Star is for you.
