Mexico City.- Three elements of the Secretariat of the Navy were made available to the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) for allegedly stealing fuel from the Salina Cruz Refinery in Oaxaca, the naval unit reported. The facts were reported yesterday at the Refinery “Ingeniero Antonio Dovalí Jaime” of Pemex, where the sailors were surprised by physical security personnel of the company with various gallons with hydrocarbon.” Naval personnel allegedly tried to illegally steal hydrocarbon from an official vehicle, so they were caught by Pemex physical security personnel, who carried out a vehicle overhaul, finding several jerrycans inside which could not verify its legal provenance,” the Navy said. They immediately gave notice to the Command of the Tenth Naval Zone, based in that city and port, who proceeded to report the facts in reference to the competent authorities and made available those elements”.

The uniforms were made available to the competent authorities for investigations to be carried out for allegedly performing acts contrary to the performance of their duties.” It should be noted that the Ministry of the Navy – Mexican Navy in this and in all cases where naval personnel are likely responsible for activities classified as a crime, will act with strict adherence to the law, proceeding with rigor, forcefulness and transparency citizenship; making them available to the authorities responsible for administering and seeking justice in Mexico,” he added.
