The Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) conducted a study of 35 burger meat products and found that 15 of them are made of something different from what they offer to consumers, as they contain soy, bacon or chicken skin.
The Profeco study analyzed the health quality of the products, the nutritional contribution, the cost, the ingredients and the information on the label. “The way it is presented makes it easy to mask diverse content from the meat industry in minced meat,” notes the information unit released in the Consumer Magazine.

The products that have non-truthful information on their labeling are:

Depending on the brand, products that boast being beef-only, have between 90 and 96% beef, and those that have chicken as the first ingredient only contain between 39 and 74%.    
The products that offer the res as the first ingredient and the pork as the second, contain 41% to 75% and 11% to 38%, respectively. Those who add soy have a range of 6 to 28% within the ingredients that make up the burger. None of the products found the presence of Salmonella.
